Install Souffle
Souffle works directly in modern browsers on computers, tablets and phones. Once installed, the application opens directly from your device in its own window and remains available offline after the content has been downloaded.
It is free, account-free and ad-free. Your progress data stays on your device. The application installs directly from your browser, without going through the App Store or Play Store.
On iPhone and iPad
Add Souffle to your Home Screen to use it like an application and keep its progress in its own storage space.
Open the Share menu
The square with an upward arrow, or your browser’s equivalent share entry.

Choose “Add to Home Screen”
Depending on the iOS version, the option may use slightly different wording and may appear after you scroll.

Enable “Open as Web App” if offered
This option may be offered on certain versions of iOS or iPadOS and in certain browsers.
Launch it from the icon
There should no longer be an address bar at the top: this shows that installation succeeded.
If Add to Home Screen does not appear, open this page in Safari and try again.
On Android
Open Souffle in your usual browser
If an Install button is offered, use it.
Otherwise, open the browser menu
Look for Install app or Add to Home screen.
Press and hold the icon
On some Android browsers, a direct shortcut to “Express session” may be offered. Availability depends on the browser and operating system.
On a computer
Windows: Chrome and Edge offer an Install button; recent Firefox versions on Windows also support Web Apps. macOS: Safari offers “Add to Dock” (macOS Sonoma 14+), and Chrome also supports installation. If no option is offered, use Souffle in the browser: this is a fully supported experience.

Changing phones, or avoiding losing everything
Because nothing is stored on a server, remember to make a backup from time to time. If it contains notes or personal information, prefer Settings › Export with a password. This gives you an encrypted file that you can keep wherever you wish—Files, personal cloud storage or an email to yourself. The unprotected JSON export remains available if you need a readable format. On the new device, open the application and choose Import a backup file.
This works equally well from a regular browser or the installed application: exporting downloads a file, while importing opens one.
